Game on!

My buddy Brandon and I went to the Mets/Orioles game yesterday. The rain held off and we had great seats and a good time.

Mets lost 6-3, made some incredible mistakes with the bases loaded and had a 5 run set in the third. None of the starters were playing for the Mets, (Wright, Reyes, or Beltran to name a few) but we did get to see some new talent. Lastings Milledge almost got it out of the park but the wind took it back in. Ruben Sierra was a DH twice and belted in all three runs for the Mets. Centerfield is 401 at Ft. Lauderdale Stadium so you really don't see a lot of home runs.

Off to get the wisdom teeth out...

After 5 years of on again and off again pain it is finally time to get the damn things out. I am freaking out, I know Joe just had his out and said no big deal but I am scared shit less. I haven't been to the dentist in years, and now I am paying for it. I have to get all 4 taken out and they are all impacted, ouch!!

I have been in terrible pain since Saturday, yesterday I went in for the initial exam and they gave me 4 shots of novacaine just to ease some of the pain, guess what, it didn't help. The vicodin isn't even touchig the pain. Grand total of $1616, thank god they take payments.

Coworker Rant!

At my office I am basically the office manager. Both of my bosses are full time pilots for NWA so I pretty much run the show around here. We are a small office of about 7 people.

About 8 months ago we hired someone I knew from a bar I hang out at and her job is to answer the phone and do the administrative stuff that I don't have time to do nor want to do.

She takes a lot of time off, her boyfriend recently had a kidney removed (he's 61 she's 27) so she took off all last week to be with him, understandably. She arrives to work 15 minutes late and leaves 10 minutes early. I spoke to her two weeks ago and told her that if she is going to leave 10 minutes early than she needs to be here 10 minutes early, she said ok and started to do so.

Monday she tells me that she has to go with said boyfriend to have the staples removed from his surgery. I ask "will you be in after, to which she replies yes, I will be in by noon." So Tuesday rolls around and no coworker. I have asked previously if she is not going to show up she needs to call Which is something she never does. Jesus, she didn't even show up on the FIRST day or call. My boss decided to keep her, because we needed the help. I would have peaced her out at that moment.

Fast forward to today, I come in she is in the office directly in front of me. She is watching the news on the internet, and telling me how cold it is going to be tonight. I said did you get the information together for the email blurb, and she said no. I asked her to please get it together because we are sending it out in the morning. "Sigh, okay!!". I am getting sick of the attitude. The phone rings and she says it's someone on the phone asking for a refund, I said tell them to send in a refund request by fax or email just like everyone else has to do. A little snippy. I admit. She hangs up and I said for future reference the only way we issue a refund is if it is by a written request she says "Well someone has to tell me if I am the one dealing with the customer", and then tells me she is going home. All huffy.
I said fine, come back tomorrow without the attitude. She leaves.

Now my question is, what the hell to do about her? She has no respect for my authority, does she get canned, reprimanded, I just don't know what the hell to do and both of my bosses are out of town.

Am I overreacting?

I came into work yesterday morning and the first thing I see in my inbox is a friend request form Chris.  I go to the profile and it is a memorial page for Casey's husband Chris that passed away last March.

I add them as a friend and call Casey to inform her of the page and ask who started it, she did not know.  So as I look over the page it mentions NOTHING about Casey and the fact that Chris was married, matter of fact it originally said single.  I left a comment on the page saying that "Anyone that knew Chris knew that he was married and that he loved his wife Casey very much.  Casey was pretty hurt when I talked to her and apparently so were a few other people who made mention in the comments that the creator of the page might want to add the fact that he was married and something about Casey.  She has not even gotten a friends request from the person who started the page.

So as of today Casey has no idea who started this and doesn't know why she has not been requested.  They did change that he was married and the he had the love of his life Casey, but I just think the whole things was distasteful.

BLOG!

Well, this past weekend was huge.  I wish someone who shall remain nameless (JOE) would have came down.  Started out on Thursday night when my friend JT came down from Boston with 4 of his friends.  We had the penthouse at the Cabana from Thursday night to Monday night.  Partied all weekend, lots of drinks lots of fun.  Naked peoples in the hot tub.  Fun, Fun Fun!

I am pretty sure I had a few blackouts this weekend.  But I was in good company and not too far from the Cabana.  Sunday we went to the Patriots game, we left the hotel at 10 am with 20 people in tow.  Cruised down to Dolphins stadium in hopes of coming back with a victory.  That didn't happen instead I came back with a group of 19 pissed off Patriots fan and one happy Dolphins fan.  Walking into the Cabana the staff knew it was going to be ugly.  Shots all around the bar, in no time there were people falling down, 3 deep at the bar.  I had managed to hijack this sweet Pats hat from this guy and a Brady jersey off another guy!  Early Christmas prizes.  I ended up passing out about 4 am.  Heather woke me up at 9 to go to work, I made the executive decision to take the day off.  No matter how many showers I took, I just couldn't get the stink of booze of me.  I am pretty sure it was coming out my pores.  Had a nice relaxing day with just JT, Heather and I.  We ate pizza, drank some twisted tea and just hung out.  JT left Tuesday morning.  Thank god he only comes to town once a month!

Let's Play Catch Up!

Well I haven't written a blog in almost a month, hmm what has been going on with me?

This weekend I went to a wedding, so much fun!  My good buddy Joe got married to the most wonderful woman ever, great wedding held on the beach and the reception was at my favorite bar.  Needless to say 12 hrs of open bar and I was WASTED!

I am going to the Patriots/Dolphins game on Sunday, my friend JT is driving down from Boston him and 6 of his friends and me and Julie are going to the game.  We are taking a bus down from the Cabana and it is going to be a lot of fun.

Monday I head out to Colordao and I am drving Casey back to New Hampshire she has decided to leave Breckenridge and go back to live with her Dad for a bit to save some money.  Unfortunately I don't drive at night and I haven't driven in the snow since 97.  The last time I drove in the snow I flipped my car 3 times and landed 6 ft up in a tree.  It was actually black ice, blech.  SO SCARY!

Oh yeah, the Dallas Cowboys are on the top of the NFC East by 2 games, yippee!

What's up with you guys?

Things

Not much going on in my life lately to talk about, but I feel like writing so I will blab about some up coming events.

Julie and I are going to the Bang festival on Saturday.  This is going to be an awesome show, let me tell you!  Duran Duran, Daft Punk, Tiesto, Gnarls Barkley, Common and Modest Mouse to name a few.  All day Saturday in Miami at Bayfront Ampitheater which is a great venue for large concerts with multiple stages.

Tuesday 3 of my girlfriends and I are going to see Jimmy Buffett in West Palm.  My buddy Catfish Hunter (stage name) who played my birthday party is opening up for him.  It is a night concert and we have lawn seats, thank god we have a designated driver.  Work will indeed suck on Wednesday.

My car has been broken down for 3 weeks.  I decided not to sink any more money into the pit of despair and I am going to go buy a new car.  I found two 99 Lexus ES 300 for $10,000.  I am going to check them out next week.

That is all for now, hope everyone is having a good week.  Happy Hump Day!

Is this nightmare over yet.

2006 has been one of the worst years of my life.  I can say that with all honesty.  Death has now become just a part of my life.  Since March I have lost 5 people.

This weekend my best friend Heathers mom committed suicide.  I just don't understand it.  Suicide is the most selfish thing a person can do.  The worst thing about the whole situation is that Heathers father committed suicide 6 years ago.  He shot himself.  Her mother decided to meet her fate by a rope in the garage.  Heather and I just had lunch with her on Thursday, she seemed fine.  I guess she wasn't.  So I won't be around this week, I have to help Heather get some things together for the funeral and wake.

As xzx said in her blog October is a bad month for many people now it just got worse for one more.  To all of those who have lost, you are in my thoughts.

Prickly

I am awful bitchy this morning.  I have taken shots at strangers, I have taken shots at my co workers.  I yelled at some poor lady in traffic this morning.  I must say I am awful prickly.  It all started this morning when it took me an hour and a half to get to work.  My car over heated like 12 times on the way and for some reason now my heat isn't working to lower the temp of the car.  I got my paycheck today because both of my boss' are gone all week and I have exactly 1 dollar left after I pay my bills, woo hoo!

None of my employees have showed up yet this week.  We are slow at work so I am stuck doing menial taks such as data entry.  Data Entry blows.  That is why I have people that work under me to do this shit, but no do you think they could show up for work....

Rant over! Thanks for listening.

Birthday Painting

My friend Jay painted me a picture of Jimmy for my birthday, I love it.  The painting looks just like him.

It's my 27th birthday!!

I am so excited it's my birthday.   I have a big party planned tomorrow.  I have a band, and a bartender and stuff.  I love birthdays.  Yeah, yeah yeah!  Heather is getting me a dog, and my friend Pete came by my work and gave me some pants and a few tank tops and a sweater.

Sports Talk

Ok, so here is a rundown of what is going on in my little world of sports.  Don't get any ideas (Timbo, Ryan &  Moonz) and go traipsing around sticking Yankees/Mets/Giants logos in my comments section either.

Marlins-Well we went into a little slump there and managed to lose the last 4 games until last night when Dontrelle came to the rescue.  6-3 win over the Mets, Dontrelle pitched 8 1/3 innings and belted 2 homeruns and earned an RBI in the sixth.  Whoever said that NL pitchers couldn't hit is out of their mind (CHY!!)  The chances are looking real slim for the Marlins to make to the playoffs but I must say that I am happy where we are right now because I didn't think they would make it this far.  Finish off the Mets tonight, hopefully with a win.  Rookie pitcher Anibel Sanchez against Veteran pitcher Pedro Martinez.  Than we go on to play Philly who are tied with the Dodgers in the Wild Card race.  Two series with Philly over the next 10 games and a series against the Reds.  Cabrera is out with a shoulder injury, so we will not have his hitting ability, but we need to WIN, WIN, WIN!!

Cowboys-Thank god we won on Sunday, I really could not see the Cowboys going 0-2 that would have been heart breaking.  Alomost as heart breaking watching Terrell Owens drop the totally catchable passes that Drew Bledsoe shot down the field to him.  Terrell had surgery on what was a broken 4th metacarpal.  Parcells seems to be perfectly fine with it.  Put a plate in there call it good.  The only good thing about the injury was the timing.  The cowboys have a bye this week and next week we play a struggling Tennesee Titans.  I have a pretty good feeling that T.O will be back for our game against the Eagles.

Look at the NFC East Standings:

Cowboys ~ 1-1

Giants ~ 1-1

Eagles ~ 1-1

Redskins ~ 0-2

Stuff about MS and TN and Stuff

Back to the ole grind today and there is nothing going on..the phones aren't ringing, both of my boss aren't here.  Pretty freaking boring I must say.

My trip to TN and MS was good.  I went out on Beale Street Wed night, got pretty tanked.  My friends that I was visiting in Memphis own a locksmith company so I rode around with Eric all day unlocking cars, changing out locks and so on and so forth.  I learned some valuable lessons if I ever wanted to start a career in stealing cars.  We went and had some BBQ from this little place called the Pig in Memphis on Thursday night, probably the best pulled pork sandwich I have ever had!

Friday mosied on down to Greenville where I was to meet up with Casey.  I had a pretty good buzz come the time I met up with her.  She kept saying "Natanis do NOT go the Carders wasted!"  I think she knew had a pretty good idea that I was buzzed even with my efforts at trying to hide it.  Met up with her at the Carders and she dropped off the baby (now 17 months) and we went out to dinner with my friends Geni and Dab.  It was delicious, crab stuffed catfish to die for!  After that we met up with Larry Gene (Chris' brother) and his girlfriend Frankie, went down to this bar called the One Block East.  It was ghetto fabulous out front.  Big ole black woman traipsing around in gold short shorts and black halter tops...yummy!

Blues Fest on Saturday afternoon, I ended up partying all night with Larry Gene so we didn't wake up until late.  Casey wouldn't go in because she was scared of the Ninjas (black people), she couldn't see one white person so she was not down for the fest.  I decided fuck that it's not like they are going to be wielding knives at each other and hell Greenville, MS is 70% black so what did anyone expect? I enjoyed myself the music was good every body was really nice.  Saturday night I chilled knowing I had to go to the Carders for Chris' birthday fish fry.

I spent a couple of hours at the fish fry with the Carders, we gave Chase a mohawk it was is so cute and than I headed down to the cemetary to visit with Chris. Oh the things I wondered while I was sitting there.  I just remember it being very dark and stagnant and the air was just still.  I started to cry a bit realizing that it has been 6 months now and how much Chase is growing up it really made me just sad and than all of a sudden the wind starts blowing and it got really bright out and I smiled knowing that Chris was there, it is amazing how in just one moment you can just feel so much better.  I am not the most spiritual person but I know he was there.

This is Chase and his new mohawk...tell me this is not one cute kid!

On the road again

Well folks, I head off to Memphis this afternoon. I will be in Memphis until Friday when my best friend Casey flies in from Colorado and we will be heading to Greenville, MS for the Delta Blues Fest and for Chris' birthday.  We need to stop and get some flowers for his grave and Casey wants me to help her pick out a headstone.  I wish just one time that I went to Mississippi that it didn't have to be such a sad event.  Chris has been gone now for 6 months on the 18th one day after his birthday.   Casey is doing so good.  I can't wait to see her.

Delta Blues Fest on Saturday and a big ole Fish Fry on Sunday, hush puppies, chicken and dumplings, catfish, tamales, fried pickles and all that Southern goodness.

On another note, my birthday is coming up (22nd) and I am having a party on September 23rd.  I am going to be the big 2-7, woo hoo!

Alrighty o folks, have a great rest of the week and weekend.  BTW I sat in the rain for multiple hours only to watch the Mets beat the Marlins, drunken good time though.  1 1/2 hour rain delay means too much Captn.

A bite a bruise and a bang

I tried to type this blog three times and I have lost it each time so basically this is the jist of the bruise.  I was at a bar Sunday (fairly intoxicated)  this bitch who I hate came up to me and bit my leg, I jumped off the bar raked my arm down a chair and beat the shit out of her...Done and done!

Miami Dolphins

A friend of mine called and asked to me go to the Dolphins/Rams game last night so I said what the hell I have nothing else to do. You see I am not usually a fan of preseason. I understand the whole theory behind it and all but I believe that you are putting your players at risk for an injury.

Anyways, we had pretty good seats, the stadium was half full, but I had a freaking awesome time. I love football, we got there about and hour and a half early, did a little tailgating. Tried to catch a good buzz before we had to go in and pay $7.00 a beer.

The Dolphins are looking pretty good I must say, Daunte didn't really play much, but he has been looking good the last few games. Our third string quarterback did pretty well too. I think he completed somewhere around 75% of his passes.

All in all I caught a buzz, had a good time and the dolphins won 29-9. It was a great night at Dolphins Stadium.

How bout them Marlins?

2 Games back from the Wild Card

We have won the last 8 games in a row.

Going into St. Louis tonight who are holding the NL Central Division lead.

2 Games under .500, hasn't happened since we were 1-3.

GO MARLINS!!

I am freaking out!

They fucking let Andy out of jail.  What the hell am I going to do.  He is going to get fucked up and come looking for me.  His mother is here and he is with Nick, and he is already drinking.  If he is drinking Whiskey I am dead! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!  Just when I thought things were getting better.

Good News, Bad news

Well 5 of my friends took a trip up to Boston for the Sox/Yankees game. I couldn't go because I am broke as a joke. Well they just called from Beantown and they all bought me an airline ticket, I leave tonight on Jetblue. Game tomorrow night.  Look for us on the jumbotron!! They got free tickets to the game so all in all even though I am broke the tickets are paid. Woo hoo!! I am stoked.

Bad news, I just had a huge loan (I am a commercial mortgage broker) blow up in my face. It was supposed to close on Monday. Looks like I will be broke for a little while longer.
