Bonnaroo Part 3

Day 3- I woke up at about 8 am had some breakfast, hot dogs I believe and started guzzling beers, we decided that if we caught a good enough buzz we wouldn't have to pay so much for beer inside.  We had those spray bottles that have a fan on them for water and we filled those up with alcohol, I know clever right?!  We made a batch of tea from some goodies we found late the night before, and filled four bottles up with that too.  We were set!!  Off we went.

We walked around the Centeroo and through the shakedown to see if we could replace a few pieces that were confiscated, unfortunately nothing jumped out at me.

2:00pm~Jeffrey, Ben and I went to see Gomez on the sonic stage, the sonic stage is an acoustic stage so you get to hear the bands in a different element.  They played a good set and played my favorite song so I was stoked.  We went back and forth from the Beer tent drinking Abita and great microbrews.

3:15-4:45~ Rusted Root~Everytime I have seen them I have been nothing but impressed.  They played all the old songs from Send Me on My Way.  Come to think of it the concert area was packed and we were discussing how they have only put out two or three albums and always draw a serious crowd.  Great dancing music.

5:00~We could hear Cypress Hill and Damian Marley playing from Rusted Root and ventured over there to see that show.  On the way we spotted Mike Gordon getting a corn dog and asked him for a picture, he said "No, he was over all the pics" I said thanks and have a great day...whatever!

5:30~Beck~ God damn Beck was one of my favorite performances of the show, in my opinion they stole the show.  They did a puppet show on the jumbotrons and mocked the whole Bonnaroo experience.  They played some old school stuff and some new stuff and ended the show by blowing up a ginornous radio.  Good Times.  I was feeling mighty good at this time from the tea, just bobbing and swaying and dancing about.  I was kinda upset that I missed Medeski, Martin and Wood but hey it was worth it.  I had never seen Beck and I have seen MMW like 4 times.

We went back to the RV's to do some more drinking and some chillin' out.  We grilled up some hamburgers and drank some serious cocktails.  The headliner for Sat night was Radiohead, I must admit the only song I know of from Radiohead was Creep.  The same with most of the people I was with.  We all decided to go and see what they had to offer.  I was told by one person they kinda sounded like Pink Floyd.

8:00~We wanted to get there a little bit early to get good seats, but that didn't happen.  It was fine though because I was in the mood to boogie down and they wanted me to go to sleep.  Jeffrey had left me to go to the bathroom and ended up laying on the ground and passing out.  8-12 of us did NOT enjoy them at all.  I guess if I would have been in a slower sleepy mood it would have been great!  I left there and went on the Ferris Wheel to get a birds eye view.  There wasn't a line because Radiohead was playing, fun fun!

9:00~ I headed back to the RV to see what kind of trouble I could get into on Shakedown.  Well than I heard it, pssssssssssssst!  Nitrous, oh how I love the hippy crack!  I wondered over to where the noise came from and hear a guy shouting 5 bucks, no deals, no change.  I got 4 cause all I had was a $20. (Smart guy!)  So in my drunken stooper, standing there on uneven ground I fell over into the nitrous tank and knocked it over onto my foot.  Mutha fucker...turns out I had a hairline fracture on the top of my foot...You think I cared nope, and didn't even lose the balloons.

Drank and drank some more, Jeffrey showed up at the RV and helped me finish off my balloons.  We hung out for a while, everyone else came back and went to bed, so Jeffrey and I stayed up laughing and having a grand old time.  I was pretty wasted and therefore we missed the late night shows!  Oh well.
