I've been ROBBED!!
Yep, robbed I tell ya. Monday night was the closing of my beloved watering hole Blondie's on the Beach. Man I have had some good times in that bar, it was the first place I ventured into when I moved to Ft. Lauderdale 6 years ago, at the ripe old age of 21.
I befriended the bartenders and bouncers, it was like my second home. Yeah I'm a drunk, I know it, no need to tell me! I reminisced on Monday night as all the other patrons did, we got drunk and tackled the task of drinking everything in the bar. "Natanis got the last shot of Stoli O" Sandy screamed from the bar...
Ahh I am going to miss that place. The Elbo Room (est 1938) is closing down also at the end of the month. The face of Ft. lauderdale Beach is changing folks. No more spring breakers gallivanting half naked (drunk) down the beach. No more 12-10pm happy hours. A developer bought the whole block for 90 Million and they are putting up hotels to make it more of a South Beach type of atmosphere, blech!! If I wanted to live on South Beach I would move down there!

I know, I thought you got robbed too, all I was thinking was that at least your ok enough to write a blog. That really does suck about the bar. Everything is becoming corporate and souless. I heard a good word for it somewhere "Generica". |

Sorry to alarm you all!! All is good in the hood! On a side note i am going to go see Over the Hedge tonight, woot! I'm exited for an activity outside of the bar! |

You will love Over the Hedge. It is so funny. I love all the adult-based humor in the childrens movies these days. Everybody gets a laugh. The kids don't really get it, but atleast it caters to multiple generations. |

I didn't end up going to see the movie, I went to the bar before my friend Heather and I were supposed to go and I had forgotten that the Miami Heat were playing game 5 last night. Much to my dismay we lost and have to go to game 6, bahh! Maybe next time! |
