6 degrees of separation

The story behind Ben T....

Well as noted in my last blog the reason why Ben and I broke up was because of the events of one evening. 

Back in the summer of 1999 I was dating Ben.  I have a very extroverted cousin named Chuk.  Chuk is my step father's nephew, no blood relation.  My step father (Gary) came over one night to meet Ben, I was ok with this but needless to say Ben was very worried.  Gary had just came back from the stock car races, so Ben was excited because he had something to talk about with my step dad.  Ben tells Gary that his father Carl was a stock car driver from back in the day.  Gary asked him what his dad's name was (we live in a small town) and Ben says Carl (can't remember last name), well Gary looks at me with this astonished look and says "Natanis do you know who that is?" I was like hmm No, than Gary proceeds to tell us that Ben (26) who was always an only child is Chuk's brother.  Carl had fathered Chuk with Gary's sister, and than had Ben not even 8 months later.  Chuk and Ben grew up next to each other for 20 years and never knew that they were brothers.  We got in contact with Chuk and I put them together, it was amazing.  Needless to say Ben & I broke up. Now we take yearly trips to San Francisco for all of us to get together.  Last year Chuk gets an e-mail from this girl named Victoria who had been looking for him for 10 years.  It turns out that Carl had fathered Victoria nine months prior to Chuk.  She lived in the next town over also. So because of this one day my step father came over a family has been reunited.  Ben thought he was an only child his whole life and now he has a brother and sister.  I'm sure there are more out there, we will see.
